What this site is, and what it isn’t#
Everything here is general information published for educational purposes. It is not advice about your particular circumstances, and specifically it is not legal, tax, financial or investment advice.
That distinction matters more on this site than on most, because a lot of what we write about is regulation, contracts and money. We explain what rules exist, when they took effect and where to read the original text. What we cannot do is tell you how a rule applies to your situation. For that you need a qualified professional in your own jurisdiction, and where that’s the honest answer we say so on the page rather than improvising.
Every page shows the date it was last updated. Platform policies and legislation in this field changed repeatedly during 2026 and will change again, so check that date, and check the primary source we’ve linked, before you rely on anything.
Accuracy, and what to do when we’re wrong#
We source every figure and label estimates as estimates. We will still get things wrong, and material will go out of date between updates.
If you find an error, email [email protected] with “Correction” in the subject line. We fix errors and note the change on the page. We’d much rather be corrected than be quoted incorrectly.
No affiliate links#
We take no affiliate commission and receive nothing for mentioning any product, tool or platform. Where we name one, it’s because naming it was necessary. If that ever changes it will be disclosed prominently, not buried in a footer.
Using our material#
The text and design here belong to Top Creators unless stated otherwise. You’re welcome to read it, print it, quote it with attribution, and use it in teaching, in a community or in non-commercial work.
For translation or wider reuse, get in touch and we’ll sort out permission at no charge. We ask that any republication keeps the source links and the dates, because a version of our material without its sources is just another unsourced article, which defeats the purpose.
